Meet the Committee

I was keen on drama technical work at school, in my home city and at university. I then took a 40-year sabbatical – work got in the way!
After retiring I bumped into the Q2 Players at the Kew Fete; that was nine years ago and I have been a part of every show since. You’ll never see an acting credit for me but I do the lighting, sometimes sound and lead on the construction of the sets. I’m also the designated van driver, when necessary! Q2 is an extraordinary company and puts on a wide range of shows in the beautiful surroundings of The National Archives. Why not come and join us? - Bob Gingell |

I first joined Q2 Players in the1980s when I was performing at their original venue in Kew Road (now demolished). After a break with other groups I rejoined Q2 in 2004 with a part in “A Rose without a Thorn” and had a variety of acting parts since then. My most memorable performance was Ebenezer Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol” in 2014. I have been a committee member and Treasurer of Q2 sine 2008 - Christopher Hodges

After many years in dance, musical theatre and choral groups, I joined Q2 Players in 2010, and began getting involved with costuming almost immediately, being a keen dress-maker and having had costuming experience with Hounslow Light Opera and St Mary’s Light Opera. I was soon ‘encouraged’ to join the committee, and after a period of changes and group chairing, I became the Chair in 2015. After a while I tried my hand at set design and construction, which I found to be a great outlet for my DIY enthusiasm, especially in creating all sorts of marvels out of disguised garden trellis. Ever one to add strings to the bow, I have now also directed, managed front of house, and been trained in basic lighting and in intimacy co-ordination, as well as treading the boards. And as if that wasn’t enough, I’m still singing and dancing with HLO, several of whose members are also active Q2-ers. I am very proud of our reputation for supporting new writers, and for bringing our audiences lesser-known works as well as the classics, serious drama as well as the comic, surreal or just plain whacky! - Harriet Muir

I've been involved in Am Dram in one shape or form for as long as I can remember. I joined the Uxbridge based Purple Theatre Company back in 2008 and have ever looked back. Although I enjoy the acting side I'm more useful when it comes to writing and directing, as was proved by 2023's production of Bullshot Crummond which took home 4 Swan Awards. Q2 are a fun and vibrant company with a rich pool from which to draw many talented people, and we hope to carry on our success in to the future and beyond - Dominic Parford

I have been a proud member of Q2 Players since 2022. In that time, I have performed in several productions and also stepped into the director’s chair. I love the friendly atmosphere, the kindness of fellow members, and the strong sense of community the group fosters. For me, Q2 Players is not only a place to create theatre, but also a wonderful way to meet people and share in the joy of bringing stories to life together. - Anna Piggott
